"The Boat was marked for a target when saved by Sea Cadets, while in tow up the missishippi in 1972 hit a tree and became submerged, over many weekend trips to dig out the vessel and get it on barge it was moved to Great Lakes Naval Base, after a time Great Lakes it was moved afer being restored to Dan Dourghty habor Chicago IL near the Calumet river and 130th streets, the boat was fully restored and the Dept Of Defense wanted it back. The DoD only owned the hull of the boat so it was stripped of what was added to it returned to DoD and sent offf to michigan to rot. since it was no longer in running order no engines, no brass work, no sound powered phones, no brass propellers just a mahogany hull oh and no boat cradle"
