I found out through reading an AC brief in Colorado v Baca that six electors didn't show, they had to quickly look for replacements, one of the replacements got confused and almost voted for Truman, and there's a story about this on page 3 of the Ann Arbor News for Dec. 14, 1948. I have been unable to confirm this; could someone with access to the MDaily archives check and possibly add a section on this? 24.61.57.240 (talk) 06:17, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
