The Love Boats is a 1973 semi-autobiographical novel by Jeraldine Saunders, based on her experiences working as a cruise hostess.[1] The book served as the inspiration of The Love Boat.

"As much fun as a trip around the world," said Irving Shulman. The Los Angeles Times proclaimed the book was full of, "Exotic ports, erotic games on a sea of sun, sex, and booze!"
