Draft:The Bites

  • Comment: This band is definitely deserving of an article, but there is a near-complete dearth of sources independent of the band that aren't just covering chart positions or performance dates. Mach61 (talk) 06:27, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: Most of the sources appear to be primary sources. I do see one RS with significant coverage though, at minimum. Fermiboson (talk) 11:41, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

The Bites are a five-piece rock band from Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA. The band was founded in 2019 and is currently made up of the following members: Jordan Tyler (vocals), Mark Hylander (drums), Jono Richer (guitar), Dustin Coon (guitar) and Zack Currier (bass). Their debut album 'Squeeze' achieved #3 in the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart[1] and the band broke into the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with their single “Knockin' On The Door”.[2][3]

History[edit]

It was announced that The Bites were signed to Earache Records in December 2022.[4]

On September 15, 2023, The Bites released their self-produced debut album 'Squeeze' via Earache Records.[5] 'Squeeze' was released to critical acclaim, with Classic Rock Magazine declaring The Bites as “the return of the good-time Hollywood party band”[6] and naming 'Squeeze' as part of their Best Debut Albums of 2023: “If anyone is going to lead a proper hard rock comeback in 2024, it’s them.”[7]

The album's lead single “Do Me A Favor” was added to the Kerrang! and Planet Rock Radio playlists, achieving a #1 spot on Planet Rock Radio's airplay chart, ending the year at #35 in their Top 40 most played songs.[8]

On December 12, 2023, their single “Knockin' On The Door” broke into the Top 40 of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, following their #3 and #6 spots in the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart and UK Independent Albums chart, respectively, with 'Squeeze'.[1][2][9][3]

Live[edit]

The band toured the US twice in 2023, one with Small Town Titans in August and the other with Metal Church in September.[10][11]

On November 30, 2023, the band commenced their first ever UK headline tour, the Knockin' On The UK tour, which featured their sold-out London live debut and included in-store shows at UK record stores, as well as spots at Planet Rock Radio's Rockstock festival and Sheffield's Winter Rocks festival.[12][13][14]

In 2024, the band tour the US with Jared James Nichols in January/February and The 69 Eyes in March/April.[15]
