Salafi Publications is an Islamic publishing house and educational institute that focuses on promoting orthodox Sunni Islam in adherence to the Salafi methodology. Founded in the late 20th century by Abdul-Haqq Baker and Abu Khadeejah Abdul-Wahid, Salafi Publications has emerged as a prominent voice within the Salafi movement, advocating for a return to the pristine teachings of Islam as understood by the salaf (pious predecessors).Salafi Publications, also known as Spubs, was founded to counter the extremist beliefs of the Muslim Brotherhood, Qutbism, Hizb ut-Tahrir and Sururists, who are all accused of khuruj. It combats the ideologies of extremist organisations including Islamic State and Al-Qaeda.[1]
Controversies[edit]
Respect Salafi Shaykh, Dr. Wasiullah Abbas of Umm al-Qura University in Makkah, warned against Spubs founder Abu Khadeejah in his writings and in his fatawa (rulings). He says about a Spubs lecture:
"I do not advise the brothers to attend this seminar, especially if Abu Khadeejah and others are going to be there." "You will see that if they are given the opportunity to address the people, they will divert them from the understanding of Salafiyya."[2] However, there is lack of evidence which support Sheikh Wasiullah's arguments against Abu Khadeejah.
