Rompecorazones is the upcoming first extended play by Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA. It is supposed to be released in 2024, though Real Hasta la Muerte and Hear This Music, and will follow his fourth solo studio album LLNM2 (2022).[1]
Background and promotion[edit]
After releasing his fourth solo studio album LLNM2, Anuel AA posted a preview of a song produced by Foreign Teck and Smash David and hinted on its deluxe edition. He clarified the statement in an interview for Trap House Latino that 6 or 7 unreleased tracks from the album will be released. Later he confirmed the statement by uploading an Instagram story with a bachata song in the background, produced by Chris Jedi and Gaby Music.
In February, 2023, Anuel AA announced his USA tour "Legends Never Die". In the promotion video, he declared that his next project is an extended play with the title Rompecorazones.[2] Then he included Puerto Rican producer DJ Luian and Puerto Rican producer duo Mambo Kingz as part of his workteam, with them lined up to work on the project. After partnering on multiple collaborations, including the release of the lead singles Más Rica Que Ayer and Mejor Que Yo, Anuel AA claimed in an Instagram live that the extended play is recorded and delivered for mastering. After his concert in Panama, he claimed that the time for the release of Rompecorazones is "getting closer".[3]
Puerto Rican singer and rapper Ozuna stated that he will likely feature on a collaboration between him and Anuel AA in Rompecorazones.
Postposement[edit]
In early October, 2023, Anuel AA announced that the extended play is postponed due to an unexpected emergency surgery. He also declared that it was supposed to be released at the end of the month but it got deferred till further notice. Anuel AA also said that he stopped working for a time because of his recovery.[4]
