Hi (formerly know as Yi) (majuscule: Յ; minuscule: յ; Armenian: հի; Classical Armenian: յի) is the twenty-first letter of the Armenian alphabet. It represents both the Voiceless glottal fricative (/h/)[b] and the Voiced palatal approximant (/j/) in both Eastern and Western varieties of Armenian. Created by Mesrop Mashtots in the 5th century, it has a numerical value of 300.
