Comment: Article about an architectural practice that has mainly achieved routine and passing mentions of its work (some of which appear to be PR/marketing driven). I've edited some of the waffle. In short, it has been shortlisted, commended and mentioned in industry awards, but no major awards have been won and there are no citations of significant (ie: extensive, in-depth) coverage about the firm (rather than its projects). David Flynn Architects Ltd is an Irish architectural practice based in Clonskeagh, County Dublin.

Established in 2011, the RIAI registered practice^[1] operates out of a granite coach house on Clonskeagh Road. Its work includes residential projects such as one-off bespoke houses, extensions and refurbishments and house rebuilds. Holding accreditations in Conservation (Grade III), the practice has undertaken projects in places including Clonskeagh, Mount Merrion, Booterstown, Malahide, Glenageary, Sandymount and Rathgar.

Awards and publications[edit]

The practice was commended and shortlisted in the 'Emerging Practice Award' category in the 23rd RIAI Irish Architecture Awards in 2012.^[8]
The Portico project was shortlisted in the 29th RIAI Irish Architecture Awards.^[9]
The Northlight project received a special mention in the 2016 Architectural Association of Ireland awards.^[10]
The Sandymount project received a special mention in the Architectural Association Awards in 2011.^[11]

David Flynn, director of the practice, was highly commended for his competition entry for DoCoMoMo Ireland and Limerick City of Cultures international competition "Rank’s Silo in the 21st Century’'^[12] and was commended for his RIAI competition entry for a new main entrance to Dublin City University. ^[13] His entry to the DoCoMoMo Ireland Central Bank competition was selected as a finalist out of 58 entries.^[14] He also placed third in the international TAB 2013 Vision competition - Recycling Socialism.^[15]
