Charlotte Austin (Thai: ชาร์ล็อต ออสติน), born on December 21, 1998, in Phuket, Thailand, is a Thai-British model, actress, and singer. She is known as a beauty queen in Miss Grand Thailand.[1] and for her acting as Cherine in "Show Me Love - The Series"[2]. She is also set to star in the 2024 remake of "Mon Rak Luk Thung" as Thongkwao.[3]
Education[edit]
After completing her bachelor's degree in hospitality and Tourism Management from the Prince of Songkla University - Phuket Campus in 2022, Charlotte initially aspired to become a flight attendant. However, her friend Suphatra Kliangprom[4] who has crowned as Miss Tourism International 2022/2023 had convinced her to join the Miss Grand Thailand 2022 competition alongside her.[5]
Early Career[edit]
Beauty Pageant Journey[edit]
In 2017, Charlotte's journey in the pageantry circuit commenced with "Miss Supranational Phuket," marking her initial foray into the beauty pageant world. In 2022, she earned the title of 1st runner-up in Miss Grand Phuket[6][7], where she lost the title to childhood friend Heidi Amanda Jensen. She continued her path by participating in Miss Grand Chumphon 2022[8], where she emerged victorious and secured the opportunity to represent Chumphon in Miss Grand Thailand 2022. She achieved the notable position of 5th runner-up in the national pageant and has been a big representative of the organization to this day.[9][10][11]
Acting[edit]
In 2023, Charlotte transitioned to the world of acting, making her series debut alongside Engfa Waraha in the GrandTV series "Show Me Love - The Series," directed by Thanamin Wongskulphat and Bandit Sintanaparadee. The romantic miniseries has garnered attention, furthering Charlotte's popularity in the entertainment industry.[12][13]
Charlotte has also acted in different music videos as a romantic lead.[14][15]
She is currently starring in the 2024 remake of the Thai classic "Mon Rak Luk Thung" on Channel 3 as the main character alongside Mew Suppasit[16]
Personal Life[edit]
Born to a Thai mother and a British father and raised mostly by her father due to her mother's work commitments abroad, she also has three older half-brothers. Her father, initially a soldier in Thailand, later became an English teacher based in Phuket. Austin worked as a freelance model in Phuket, supporting herself through tuition and employment as a waitress in tourist areas and restaurants.
