Bassam Mahfouz is a British Labour politician for Ealing and Hillingdon serving in the Labour Group in the London Assembly since 2024. He has been a Councillor for Ealing and Hillingdon since 2019.

Early life[edit]

Mahfouz was born in Beirut and came to Northolt with his family at the age of four, escaping from the Civil War. He is a passionate supporter of Hayes FC. He attended school locally at St. Raphael's RC Primary, where he served as a governor for over 20 years and was Chair of Governors at Mandeville Special School for 10 years. [1]

Career and interests[edit]

He is a councillor for Ealing and Hillingdon.[2] and a Board member of the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB)[3] He has focused his efforts on the “circular economy” for the capital. His role is on provision of temporary accommodation, housing demand, homelessness, and housing management for the borough. He has been elected Cabinet Member for Safe and Genuinely Affordable Homes.[4]
