Andrew Kwabena Asamoah (born 18 December 1945) is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist, who is the founder and executive chairman of A&C Development Limited.[1] Asamoah is engaged in philanthropic activities, serving as a member of the board of trustees for the Otumfuor Osei Tutu II Foundation, which consolidates and implements various social initiatives in education, healthcare, water, sanitation, and other special projects.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Asamoah became an Associate of the Institute of Commerce in the UK in 1972, followed by becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1974.[citation needed] He later pursued legal studies, earning a Law degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 1983, and subsequently becoming a Barrister at Law in 1984 after completing his studies at the Nigeria Law School.[citation needed] Asamoah received his Doctorate degree in Business Administration for Leadership and Innovation from the Swiss School of Business and Management in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2021.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

Asamoah has served as the Founder and Chairman of A&C Development Co. Ltd since 2004, while advising organizations such as the Ghana National Pension Implementation Committee and the Ghana Commercial Property Owners Association.[citation needed] He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Council of Indigenous Business Association Pension Scheme and his presidency of the Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants.[3]

Philanthropy[edit]

He plays an active role in the Otumfuor Osei Tutu II Foundation, which implements social initiatives in crucial areas such as education, healthcare, water, and sanitation.[4] The foundation's mission is to make meaningful contributions to the welfare and development of society, particularly in Ghana.[citation needed]

Honors and recognition[edit]

In 2023, he earned the GUBA Pioneer Award and was bestowed with an Honorary Professor title by the Academic Union of Oxford, UK.[5][6]

Personal life[edit]

Asamoah is fluent in English, French, and his mother tongue, Akan.[citation needed] He is married with four children and is actively involved in community development initiatives.[7]
