Draft:Agnes Lennox

  • Comment: Just one entry in a biographical dictionary is not enough to demonstrate notability, more contents and more citations would be needed. Also, the style of writing in the current draft is not suitable for an encyclopedic article, phrases like "get women more involved" and "useful stuff on different topics" are too informal and vague to be useful for readers. Please describe substantial achievements made by the subject instead of what they believed and worked towards. Tutwakhamoe (talk) 13:05, 22 April 2024 (UTC)

Agnes Lennox (fl.1839-1841) chaired the Gorbals Female Universal Suffrage Association in Glasgow, founded in 1839. This group was part of the Chartist movement and worked to get women more involved. They didn't just talk about voting rights; they also taught each other useful stuff on different topics. While most of these women saw themselves as connected to the Chartist men (like being their wives or daughters), Lennox believed women should have their own voice in politics.[1]
