Aaron Redpath (born September 11,1992) is the founder of Purpose Driven Mentality Basketball and former professional basketball player..[1]. Before starting his own youth sports organization, Redpath last played professionally for the Guelph Nighthawks in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL)[1].
High school[edit]
Redpath attended J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate High School in Ajax, Ontario. Redpath was named one of the top-rated young basketball players in Canada[2]. Redpath, who was a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, has been named tournament MVP at numerous competitions including the Pinky Lewis Classic at McMaster University in November 2010[2]. His Richardson Storm squad ranked among the elite provincially and were a strong contender for the OFSAA quad-A championship in 2011. He led Richardson with a scoring average of 26 points[2].
College[edit]
From 2011 to 2016, Redpath played for McMaster University where he was the all-time leader in steals and wins, second in assists, and top five in scoring[3]. At his time in McMaster University, Redpath scored a total of 1179 points and 307 assists[3]. Redpath was also an Ontario University Athletics (OUA) All star and received an award for the OUA rookie team from 2011 to 2012[3].
Professional Career[edit]
In 2016, Redpath signed a one-year deal with CB Zamora of the Spanish LEB Plata league in Spain[4].
In 2017, Redpath signed a one-year deal with the Saint John Riptide (NBL Canada)[5].
In 2018, Redpath signed a one-year deal with the Cape Breton Highlanders (NBL Canada), based in Sydney, Nova Scotia[6][7]. Redpath was the NBLC all Canadian in 2018- 2019 for Cape Breton[8]
In 2019, Redpath signed with the Guelph Nighthawks (CEBL)[9]
Personal Life[edit]
After retiring from professional basketball in 2020, Redpath started his own Basketball training academy, Purpose Driven Mentality and in 2023, started Nucleus Sports Group where he is the founder.
