Dehgolan(Kurdish:دێولان,Dêwlan) (Persian: دهگلان)[a] is a city in the Central District of Dehgolan County, Kurdistan province, Iran, and serves as both capital of the district and of the county.[2] The city is populated by Kurds.[3]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 20,226 in 4,920 households, when it was in the former Yeylan District of Ghorveh County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 23,074 people in 6,271 households,[5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Dehgolan County.[2] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 25,992 people in 7,708 households.[6]The majority of the people of Dehgolan are Muslims and follow the Sunni Shafi'i religion, and the rest are atheists and deists. Before Islam, the people of Dehgolan were Zoroastrian
