Français : Robes d'Yves Saint Laurent inspirées d'Henri Matisse. De gauche à droite :

- printemps / été 1982, haut de gros-grain ; jupe de taffetas brodée d'applications de taffetas, ceinture de cuir verni
- Automne : hiver 1981, boléro et haut de velours noir, jupe patchwork de moire blanche rayée noire
Pour ces deux robes, YSL s'est inspiré de la technique des papiers découpés de Matisse
À l'arrière : robe manteau d'Yves Saint Laurent, printemps-été 1970, toile de jean, Denim, Saint Laurent rive gauche
La volonté d'YSL d'ouvrir une boutique de prêt-à-porter pour s'adresser à toutes les femmes est comparée à l'attitude de Daniel Buren (oeuvre non visible sur la photo située face à la Danse) qui a la même époque a souhaité quitter le musée pour investir l'espace urbain
