Outline draft[edit]

Heya. Great outline! Now you just need to populate it with content :) But you're halfway there, really . . . the format and extras you have, including the bars at the bottom, are great. Girona7 (talk) 20:45, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Looking good, Rtbhive! Let me know when you're getting close to making it live and I can help with final suggestions and making it happen. Best, Girona7 (talk) 19:29, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Girona7! I want to get a bibliography together, and then I should be ready to go. Thanks for offering to help me take it live, I really appreciate it. I will be in touch. Rtbhive (talk) 19:34, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, Girona7, I'm ready for what you think about making my Suzy Varty page live. When you get a chance, of course! And thanks, Rtbhive (talk) 21:06, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Here are my suggestions (adding a ping in case you aren't watching this page / Rtbhive):
    • U.S., not US
    • Remove the three links in the selected works section. I know this may seem counterintuitive, but usually for lists of accomplishments like this, references aren't provided.
    • Make the external references more obviously connected to Varty. So: "Suzy Varty on the Comic Book Database" or "Comic Book Database - Suzy Varty". Same with the Canny Comic Con.
    • I would remove the British Comic Awards Judges from the External Links and instead make it a third source for the last full sentence in the text. External links should be broad rather than specific. For example, general biographies, etc. I would also remove the Amazon link here because it's not really a specific reference but a search result.
    • Add some categories. Look at bios of similar people (like Trina Robbins) for ideas.
    • When you've done all of this, go to Suzy Varty, click the "Create" button on the top right, then paste everything from your sandbox in (except the very top "User sandbox" line). Save preview with the edit summary "start page"; preview, make any final updates, then save! You can always make more changes later, so don't worry if it's not perfect when you first make it live. Good luck! Girona7 (talk) 21:41, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is Live! Thanks, Girona7. And I have a quick question: is it ok to ping people the way I just pinged you? I thought it was similar to @mentions on twitter, a way to let someone know you're talking to them...but I just want to make sure. And thanks again, for everything. Hopefully no one will have an issue with the Varty entry...:) Rtbhive (talk) 15:59, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Woohoo! Looks great, Rtbhive. Excellent job! And yes, you should ping/tag people whenever you want to call their attention to a discussion outside of their talk page. Also, for replies on a talk page, you should indent one more space than the previous comment. Do this by adding an extra colon. Girona7 (talk) 16:28, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
