Conflict of interest

Proposed deletion of Aaron Bay-Schuck

The article Aaron Bay-Schuck has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I will only use this account to edit other articles, although I do request that someone please help shorten the Aaron Bay-Schuck article to the first paragraph so that is complies with the sources sited and the page does not get deleted. The first paragraph lists his credits, such as signing Bruno Mars and Sublime with Rome, and helping co-write Flo Rida's single "Right Round" (which is actually sited on a another Wiki article), etc. I will not edit this myself, as stated by rules of COI, but ask that another, unbiased user help shorten the article so it is deemed appropriate. Thank you.

Aaron Bay-Schuck

Hi there, I'd like to thank you for pledging to comply with our conflict of interest guideline, and hope you follow through with the username change request before you continue to edit (again, the place to make the request is at WP:CHUS). I do want to bring up Aaron Bay-Schuck however. The article is currently being proposed for deletion. That is a process that we use to delete articles where the deletion is completely uncontroversial, in other words, nobody has a good-faith objection to the article's deletion. Technically, you could prevent that deletion from occurring simply by removing the deletion tag from the article or protesting its deletion on the talk page, either way the proposed deletion will not happen and from this point on the article will be ineligible for deletion. But before you do that, there are a couple of things I'd like you to consider.

First of all, there are at least 3 people who have expressed that they want the article to be deleted. The person who initially proposed the deletion, and two others who endorse the deletion. If you contest the proposed deletion, it's almost inevitable that the article will be brought to Articles for Deletion, so that people can discuss whether or not the article should be deleted. At least 3 people support that, so you would almost surely face some opposition right away and the article may be deleted regardless.

Secondly, you have pledged to avoid editing the article. You're not actually forbidden from doing so, but you've been blocked once already and protesting the deletion of the article will once again reinforce your conflict of interest. If you allow the article to be deleted, though, there will be the opposite effect, as that will show a real commitment to the pledge that you made when you requested an unblock. I'm not telling you that it would be wrong to protest deletion, it's your right to do so. But I'm only saying that it might be in your best interest in the long run to let it go. As I said before, it would likely be deleted anyway.

The article will automatically be deleted in 5 days as long as nobody objects, so you have that long to make your decision. I just wanted you to know what your options are and to give you some advice to make the right decision. Thank you. -- Atama頭 21:22, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
