Number of seats[edit]

I have seen reports on BBC and RT (Russia Today) saying that there are 150 seats in the parliament. This is different from the infobox which says there are only 126 seats. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.23.68.91 (talk) 00:30, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, and our current reference 3: [1] does not mention the number of seats at all. We also have an outdated reference [2] from Civil Georgia which puts the number at 190. Evilbu (talk) 11:42, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

According to this source the number of seats is 150, with 73 constituency seats. The constituency map in the article shows 84 constituencies. Who is right? --Furfur (talk) 11:28, 3 October 2012 (UTC

This website [3] shows the constituency seat numbers counting from 1 to 87. But, numbers 31, 34, 42, 71-78, 85, and 86 are omitted. That's 74 seats. Very confusing.

I guess the omitted numbers are reserved for the separatist territories (Abkhazia and South Ossetia) that are not under the control of Georgian authorities. No. 87 does not have a constituency seat. It isn't shown in the map, either. (I cannot read Georgian, but maybe it's for voters not registered in any district, or living abroad (?)). ppl, there are 150 seats: 73(constituency) + 77(Proportional representation). POINT.

I too dunno why it is enumerated like this. BTW, the last raw is the results from foreign countries, and therefore it does not participate in voting officials of some constituency.--Dixtosa (talk) 13:25, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I created two new maps, showing the percentage of party list votes ...: Georgian Dream and United National Movement. Both maps are in svg format, and thus easily translatable (e. g., with svgtranslate). Results - Georgian Dream[edit]

I think it should be mentioned in the 'Results' section that the reason why Georgian Dream gained 81 seats (not 83 as someone might expect, since they are a new party) is that the Republican Party of Georgia, a member of the Georgian Dream coalition, held two seats before the election.
