Hi there. Deleting images from pages with little explanation not the best way to go about this! Please see this page on getting copyright violations removed. Nikthestoned 16:31, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quote from CC website:

"What happens if someone misuses my Creative Commons-licensed work?

A Creative Commons license terminates automatically if someone uses your work contrary to the license terms. This means that, if a person uses your work under a Creative Commons license and they, for example, fail to attribute your work in the manner you specified, then they no longer have the right to continue to use your work." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.169.193.111 (talk) 17:47, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming the image is indeed under a CC license then using the image on Wikipedia is not a violation. As such, I fail to see the significance of the above? Nikthestoned 17:53, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This seems dubious. The image was verified by a bot, not a human. Snowmanradio (the user who setup the move) is a long-time and respected user who knows the rules. I could buy that the author accidentally chose the wrong license (in which case we certainly should delete the image - you can't be held to an accidental license) but it seems extremely unlikely that the image was not marked as having a CC license at the time it was uploaded. --B (talk) 18:36, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
