Summary

Description
English: A Soap Box Derby racer built and piloted by Robert J. Pusateri of Norwich, Connecticut. Robert won the local championship in Hartford in 1961, which qualified him to compete at the All-American World Championship in Akron, Ohio that year, competing in the final heat of the first round, #51, of the day. His design was a combination of a wedge-shaped prow with square shoulders and a tapered aft that was more curvilinear. It was a snug and narrow racer with a low profile and a slightly cleft fore deck, which was common in many winning racers of the day. The wheels were Championship issue, painted blue and identified with commemorative decals. The wheel set was #155. Information on Robert's race at the All-American was acquired via Newspapers.com - The Akron Beacon Journal, Sunday, August 21, 1963, pg. 11 - "Heat-By-Heat" race results. This illustration was sampled from a digital 3D model, seen here, and both were created by Bill Wrigley, Toronto, Canada.
