Biography[edit]

He started off as a music officer in the Luftwaffe, the aerial branch of the Nazi Germany’s Wehrmacht, during the Second World War. After the war, he became director of music of the 11th Panzergrenadier Division (Heeresmusikkorps 11, Bremen) of the Bundeswehr, the unified armed forces of Germany, in the 1950s and 1960s.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
